Perished Seals
Drafts and water entering the conservatory through the roof is sometimes caused by perished gaskets and seals. These plastic or rubber conservatory seals can deteriorate with age and through contact with incompatible detergents or corrosive materials. Repairing, or replacing damaged and perished seals can make your conservatory roof water tight once more.
A popular solution for re-sealing wooden conservatory roofs is the Sunwood Timber Glazing System. Sunwood uses a Screw-Down rafter bar and a Snap-Tight rafter bar system with conservatory ridge and eaves components for total roof coverage. A leaking wooden conservatory, that may otherwise be in good order, could be clad in Sunwoods aluminium or PVC-u cappings and have it’s usable life extended as a result.
